Why Do Worship Schools?
I am Tyrone Watson Jr. I am a missionary with a ministry called Holy Clubs and a worship leader at Triangle prayer room in Raleigh. I was raised in the church but it was not until January 2019 that I entirely gave my life to the Lord. I followed Jesus and I loved him, but I did not fully understand what it meant to live “holy” like God is holy. After hearing a convicting message on holiness for our generation I began to pursue the Lord with more fervency than ever before. I read about the foundations of faith through Holy Clubs Firm Foundations, started meeting regularly with firestarters, and went to as many worship gatherings and prayer meetings as possible.
One thing that has always fascinated me about these prayer and worship gatherings, is a person’s ability to connect with God and convey their connection with God to the people around them. This can be the person in the corner who is really quiet, have their eyes closed, and just seemed to be having some great experience of God; this could be the person who is extremely loud and saying things that could be biblical but you don’t fully understand; it could also be the person who is humming their own tune as they enjoy the atmosphere are them. All these people either intentionally or unintentionally convey how they are connecting to God, whether intentionally or unintentionally. The person who should be conveying this connection to Jesus, most intentionally, is the worship or prayer leader.
I saw that the worship leaders were entrusted with leading people into connecting with Jesus in a deeper way, regardless of the level of connection of each individual in the room. This concept of leading people into the emotions, the presence, and the experience of Jesus fascinates me. Now, it grips me to know that God wants people to come into His presence and minister not only to people but to Him! I am doing this class because I want people to be able to do three things: to understand how to minister to Jesus in the secret place, understand how to receive from and be led by Jesus, and then to lead others in worshipping Jesus.
