Lesson Details
There will be 9 levels in the 12 & Up class with 6-8 lessons per level (see below). As the student masters one level, we go to the next. Each level introduces a new skill set that builds upon what we have already learned.
For the 5-12 age range, we will be using a guitar curriculum that is perfect for beginning children, and for the parents that will be helping their children learn. Beginner Guitar Lessons for Kids Book: with Online Video and Audio Access (click to buy on amazon)
We go through how to play the guitar, beginner music theory, and some lessons in the area of worship. Both learning tracks are open for anyone, but the skill level of the individual will determine the best path for them.

For parents helping children with practice, it would be helpful to be in at least the first few lessons so that you can know how to get your children started with learning and practicing.

Beginner books make it easy to help with kids' musical learning at home.

Access to the internet
-
For ages above 12, complete lesson material will be provided in class and on the website as I continue to develop it. Some lessons may include videos for the student to watch and pictures to help them remember. However, if students aren't able to access the internet, they will be asked to write the lesson in their practice journal at the end of each lesson. This may take away from in-lesson time, but will likely help students with the retention of material learned.
-
Students will be given the website address for that week's lesson, to access online and practice each week.
-
The following is what Tyrone will provide for students at no additional cost:
-
A music journal
-
Extra Printed material, if necessary
-
Picks (if needed in class)
Equipment Loans:
Tyrone will have two spare guitars available to be loaned to students for $0 a week. This will include the guitar, picks, case, tuner, and strap, strings already on the guitar, but will not include amps, or pedals. The student is responsible for any damages rendering rented equipment unusable without a repair: including broken pieces of the guitar, cases, or strap. Students will not be held accountable for minor nicks on rented material due to wear and tear.
In-Lesson schedule:
3 Min: Icebreaker for the student
5 Min: Set-Up and First warm-up
10 Min: Review and Present Homework
10 Min: working on that day’s lesson
