Four Fridays Youth Worship Intensive

Service Description

This class is created for young people to bring their musical experience, gifts, talents, and desire to learn to apply them in a fun and safe worship setting. Students are not required to have previous musical skills, as long as they are willing to learn about worship, they are welcome. It is not designed to be heavy in the specifics of musical skill. Also, this class is considered intensive because of the new experience and information the youth will quickly receive. Specifically, the youth will learn: How to have engaging and enjoyable times of worship and prayer How to work in teams The beginning answers to the “why” questions behind worshipping God Essential musical concepts like rhythm, beat, pitch, and melody Q: Will there be instruments provided? A: It Depends. At the GCF location, I have a few instruments that can be used. But I ask that if your instrument can be carried in less than two bags, bring it. I may or may not have the instrument you play or I may run out of spares. I prefer you to take your instrument. If you do not have one and would like to use one at GCF, contact me. Q: Will any materials other than instruments be needed? A: A journal and writing utensil would be preferred or a laptop. Q: Can I be dropped off by a friend or parent/guardian? Can I drop off my child? A: Yes. If you are younger than 18 and do not have transportation make sure your ride can pick you up at or around 12:30. Anyone else is welcome to stay in the prayer room until 5 PM. Q: Why such a large age gap? A: I am accustomed to having worship gatherings with people as young as 9 and as old as 75. This age group would make room for youth who can be in a fun, flexible, worship-learning environment for 2 ½ hours. Q: Are guardians allowed in the group text? A: If youth are younger than 18, guardians are required to also be in the group text. This is for the safety and protection of students and teachers.
